WWDC is typically a software show, but there's now more evidence that Apple is planning to announce new hardware as well.

In fact to support this speculation, it has been noticed that the shipping estimates for Apple's 15-inch MacBook Pros have been slipping.

To that end, expect to see a new 2017 MacBook start the pricing scale at $1,299 (£1,249, AU$1,999) for likely the same 256GB storage and 8GB of RAM on offer as today coupled with a new processor inside.

As for the 13-inch MacBook Pro model, it's still in stock and available for delivery. It remains to be seen if there will be upgraded 13-inch MacBook Pro models, something that could be also announced at the upcoming Apple event.

Joining those aforementioned MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models will be the company's first-generation 802.11n AirPort Express wireless adapter.

At the time of publication, the MacBook, Apple's smallest laptop, has not been updated for 407 days compared to an average of 375 days.

Making the announcement at WWDC would make sense for Apple as it would give the company time to enlist developers to build applications for the new device. The CPU's arrival on the next-gen MacBook will not be a novelty and simply bring the Apple laptop at par with competing Microsoft devices. As mentioned in a previous post, the Cupertino company may possibly introduce upgraded models of the variant which would be armed with an Intel Kaby Lake chipset, Mac Rumors reported.
