Barcelona star Lionel Messi dreams of finishing his career with the La Liga giants after reportedly agreeing to a new deal.

Messi, now away on global duty with Argentina, added: "We would have liked to have achieved more". The talks over a new deal started in December 2016 and the two are yet to reach an agreement.

The 29-year-old enjoyed a great season in front of goal for Barca, finding the back of the net on 54 occasions in just 52 appearances.

According to Spanish radio show El Larguero, the new deal won't be signed or formally announced until after 30 June for accounting reasons.

Messi will be tying the knot with Antonella Roccuzzo, also from Rosario, who he has known since he was five years old.
