Lawmakers of all parties are decrying the heinous act of a gunman who opened fire on Wednesday on Republican lawmakers who were practicing near Washington for a charity baseball game. One of them was the third-ranking House Republican, Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise.

The list on James Hodgkinson's notepad had the names of three GOP congressmen who are all members of the House Freedom Caucus - Reps. Mo Brooks of Alabama, Jeff Duncan of SC and Trent Franks of Arizona, The Daily Caller reported.

The list contained about a dozen names, a source said.

Brooks' office told WAFF 48 News they could not comment, citing the ongoing investigation.

Duncan said he spoke with Hodgkinson briefly before the shooting, when the would-be assassin asked him in the parking lot if the players on the field were Republicans or Democrats.

Franks was not on the team, adding uncertainty about the significance of the list of names. She said she thought her husband, James Hodgkinson, had gone to the Washington area to work on tax policy.

Individual people-to-people Cuba travel to end
Though Trump will announce his new policy this Friday, nothing will change until the agencies implement those regulations. On Thursday, White House officials said that under the new directive, the US would maintain its embassy in Cuba.

Scalise, 51, was in dire condition when he was first shot, but internal bleeding is under control and the prognosis is positive.

Saclise's doctor, Jack Sava, said Scalise will need further operations but he is expected to be able to walk and run again.

Inside that vehicle, agents recovered a cell phone, a camera and a computer.

Hodgkinson's social media posts painted a picture of disdain for the Republican Party and President Trump.

"Many lives would have been lost if not for the heroic actions of the two Capitol Police officers who took down the gunman despite sustaining gunshot wounds during a very, very brutal assault", Trump said.
