A boy has a name.

We must wait to find out if Jon's name really is Jaehaerys Targaryen, but for now it seems like a ideal fit for the new King of the North. Game of Thrones Season 7 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet, and we can not wait to see how everything plays out.

The most most popular fan theory ('R+L=J') suggests that Jon's parents are Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark.

The most significant portion drops Jon's potential birth name.

For now, HBO and Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin have neither confirmed nor denied this to be true. The idea is based on lip-reading and some background information on the Targaryens.

To be fair, she was probably right - Robert loved Lyanna fiercely and essentially started the rebellion that overthrew the Taragaryen empire because Rhaegar "kidnapped" her.

It now appears that his real name has been confirmed.

Well, it may be that an article in the next issue of Empire Magazine, scanned by a Reddit member, gave us the answer.

With that, it looks like Jon Snow's real name is officially Jaehaerys Targaryen. But until then, melty continues to make you wait and it is from the famous Jon Snow (Kit Harington) that we will speak to you today.

A season 7 spoiler from the /r/ASOIAF subreddit, reveals Jon Snow's real name.

In GOT mythology, the name carries a lot of meaning as the longest-ruling Targaryen king, named Jaehaeherys I, sat on the Iron Throne for 55 years. However, it's highly unlikely that Empire would print something that's not true about the upcoming season.

As Season 7 nears ever closer, fans of the show are eager to return to the realm - which promises political posturing, all-out war, clearly defined character development and of course.frigid temperatures. With only 13 episodes left in the series, the reveal of Jon Snow's name will likely play a major part in his arc during the remaining, abbreviated seasons.

As Game of Thrones' seventh season approaches, the resurgence of this moniker matter is a stark (ha!) reminder that this is one loose thread that still has yet to be sewn up by the series.
