A four-alarm fire sparked early Friday morning in a building under construction north of downtown Oakland.

A crane dangling over the construction site was swinging, causing concern it might collapse. The crane is now spinning from the heat.

Officials say a fire is out after destroying an Oakland construction site.

Christien Kafton, a reporter for KTVU Channel 2 News, also tweeted video of the raging fire. "The building was burning and that crane was just spinning".

Alexandria Corneiro, a spokeswoman for the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said the October 31, 2016, fire that gutted a three-story√ apartment complex east of Oakland's Lake Merritt was intentionally set. By approximately 8 a.m., the fire was deemed "under control" by the Oakland Fire Department and several residents were allowed to return to their buildings.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
