Spotify On Xbox One Soon To Be A Reality

The music streaming service - which now has over 60 million paying subscribers - converted its existing app using Microsoft's Desktop Bridge tool, rather than developing a new app built on the Universal Windows Platform.

As reported by The Verge, sources "familiar with Spotify and Microsoft's plans" are now telling the website that the Spotify App for Xbox One will indeed arrive soon.

There's no doubt that Spotify is one of the more popular music streaming services.

Although Microsoft allows Xbox players to stream their own music and even listen to them in the background while playing their favourite games on the platform, having Spotify on Xbox One means getting access to a larger library of content with new music being added constantly.

Microsoft added the ability to listen to background music while playing games to Xbox One past year - a move that revived hopes of an end to Sony and Spotify's exclusive relationship. "Today, Spotify is coming to Windows 10 PC's and Xbox", the portal reads.
