"It has become clear one of the previous administration's priorities is not consistent with that of the incoming administration".

According to The Guardian's report, Bianca Moebius-Clune - the Natural Resource Conservation's director of soil health - the modeling of rising temperatures won't change, simply the wording. In addition to ditching "climate change" in favor of "weather extremes", Moebius-Clune notes that a number of other related terms and phrases would now be on the "avoid" list. Instead of "climate change adaption", staff are asked to use "resilience to weather extremes". Meanwhile, "sequester carbon" is ruled out and replaced by "build soil organic matter".

USDA's censorship of "climate change" marks the latest example of pressure from the Trump administration's to reduce discussions of climate change within the federal government. The move comes just after Donald Trump officially notified the United Nations of the USA withdrawal from the global Paris Agreement on climate change, an accord signed by almost 200 countries in December 2015 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help poorer countries adapt to an already changed planet.

President Trump's top pick to take over the position of chief scientist at the USDA is Sam Clovis. He did not present data to accurately support the claim. The climate section of the Interior Department's website was significantly edited, and the EPA removed pages about climate change from its website in April.
