APD said the woman's BMW went through the retention wires on the seventh floor of the Littlefield parking garage and hit the building across the alley as it fell, rupturing a gas line.

William Burch, the driver of the Tahoe, spoke to KVUE, KSDK's sister station, after the crash.

"She was upside down". And that she soon would be fighting for her life.

The incident happened on July 13, with the Austin Police Department releasing the footage on Thursday. "They had to pull her out from her seat belt and her head was bloody and they pulled her off to the side under the awning", Burch said.

In the clip, shot from a security camera in the alley below, we see a Chevy Tahoe completing a three-point turn and getting ready to park. "I rushed back over here and called my wife to let her know I was okay", he said.

On the way down the woman's auto hit a building on the other side of the alley taking out a surveillance camera. I don't design buildings, but there seems to be something, a flaw, ' Carlisle added.

A man drove through the barrier cables which wrapped around his tires, suspending his auto from the ninth floor.

This isn't the first time an accident like this has happened at this garage. "I was coming into the office and I heard on the radio to avoid the intersection, the vehicle had gone off a garage", he said. The city says since the deadline to get the garage into code compliance is later this month, the owner will need to file an extension, to accommodate the redesign. The driver managed to escape unharmed.
