Overwatch debuted its new CG short today, "Rise and Shine", at its Gamescom event in Cologne, Germany.

With Gamescom 2017 in full swing, developer Blizzard has chose to reveal another Animated Short for their hit FPS (first person shooter) Overwatch. And it's a doozy.

As Mei realizes that the nine years worth of data can be used to save millions of lives, her next goal becomes trying to get into contact with Overwatch and get the data back.

Mystikal Turns Himself In, Charged With First Degree Rape
A warrant has also been issued charging a Texas woman named Tenichia Wafford with accessory after the fact to first-degree rape. He was released from prison in 2010 on previous sexual assault charges and had to register as a sex offender in Louisiana.

The new short is a re-telling of Mei's origin story, beginning with a cryo-hibernation gone wrong while her and her team at Ecopoint Antarctica are trapped in an ice storm. The problem of course being that during her sleep, Overwatch disbanded and nobody bothered to check if Overwatch's Arctic outpost was even staffed. Mei and her team have made a decision to go into cyrosleep due to a shortage of rations at Ecopoint.

Snowball sacrifices itself to give Mei just enough power to finish the blaster, which allows her to climb to the top of the signal tower and head out into the snowy abyss.

After learning what transpired while she was in cryostasis, Mei says goodbye to her fallen team members, uses what little resources she has left at the base, and sets off with Snowball and her portable climate-manipulation tech in tow. She eventually realizes that she can fix the dish and try to notify her team that team Overwatch is still around.
