Today, we understand that the sun goes through cycles, like the sun spot cycle that lasts 11 years. A partial solar eclipse was visible across the entire North American continent along with parts of South America, Africa, and Europe. Several of the photos even show sunspots.

Lindsey Bergstrom took advantage of the eclipse as a unique moment to capture a once-in-a-lifetime portrait of her daughter, "The attractive crescent shadows in our alley were perfection and the ideal backdrop for a portrait".

For some of the eclipse viewers, it was a highly emotional experience. From campus the eclipse could be viewed at an impressive 95 percent totality during peak time at 1:10 p.m., allowing many community members to observe the rare astronomical phenomenon by just stepping outside. "Every time the sun came out from the clouds everybody started cheering". This reflected the eclipse down on the concrete below.

"It just looks really cool", she said.

Krista Melone had a moment just before totality hit to grab this hilarious shot. Starting at 9 a.m., the library staff presented a live stream of NASA's online coverage on a large screen in the Friends of the Library Room.

"When I first came across Chizhevsky's research it was fascinating because you're seeing thousands of years' worth of human history and human events that seem to coincide nearly perfectly with the cycles of the sun, and the radiation and cosmic rays that are coming down cosmologically and that are ultimately impacting human consciousness and the events that take place here on Earth." .

Daniel Dean drove 54 miles to be in the path of totality, and though weather threatened to hinder his view, he still got a great shot.

Tiffany Racey, a sophomore of Tunnel Hill, said she already has her special glasses, and will watch the eclipse at home with her family.

Salmon, tilapia prices lower as part of Amazon's acquisition of Whole Foods
Whole Foods co-founder and CEO John Mackey said the market has been on a mission to bring the highest quality food to customers. While Google and Walmart attract the masses, Amazon and Whole Foods have accessed the elite few who can afford the best foods.

"It's happening, it's eclipsing!" said one viewer. "This final shot has not been resized or retouched". Later documentations of solar eclipses include predictions and even poems.

I found it useful to travel with my wife, who is an expert with the less important details, like where to stay, what to eat and where to buy fuel, while I keep us razor-focused on our goal. It was like I was hypnotized by that black circle in the sky! But I know no Hindu priest will ever perform a wedding ceremony in India.

After viewing the eclipse, I spent the afternoon in Balboa Park at the San Diego History Center.

"I believe it will be the magnetic influence produced by the sun that will usher in what is described by our ancient ancestors as "the transition" bringing us to a new state-of-being." . I lightened it up a bit, added some color, and darkened the moon some. During the eclipse, people using the right equipment - and located in the right place - could catch the fleeting pass of ISS across the sun's face. I didn't prepare at all.

"I wanna see the sun blotted out from the sky".

I was at work when another employee ran in and got me. I had absolutely no filters or any type of protection to cover my lens. Even the President took a few minutes to don a pair of eclipse glasses.

Beneath two party tents, the Chamber of Commerce was serving free lemonade and ice water with desserts apropos to the event, such as banana moon pies, and cookies covered with dark chocolate frosting, except for a small crescent of exposed cookie on one side - and they didn't forget the music, either.

"I think it's important", she added.
