Google released its Google Home device in November. Maybe it's also the first ever for the Google Assistant-powered speaker and we can expect it will be followed by more from other manufacturers as well.

Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) published a new report today from its latest "home automation devices" study that shows Amazon and its Echo products with a 76 percent US market share, compared to 24 percent for Google and its Google Home device.

The makers of the Vaux Portable Speaker Base for the Amazon Echo Dot launched two new products Wednesday: The Loft provides up to eight hours of battery charge for your Google Home, and the Dox is another attachment for the Dot, but this one works with the second-generation Dot and provides 10 hours of battery.

Adding a battery pack to the Google Home effectively turns it into a portable speaker with a bevvy of smart features, thanks to the on-board Google Assistant.

With the Ninety7 Loft, you can take your Google Home with you as you move from room to room. For those wondering how LOFT attaches to the Google Home, it attaches to the magnetic base system on the smart speaker.

Similar to the Amazon Echo Dot, Google Home Mini will be a smaller version of the company's Home smart speaker. The LOFT can be pre-ordered right now for $39.95; its standard pricing is $49.95.

Do you own a Google Home smart speaker? Snap off your Google Home base, and the metallic Loft snaps in its place. Four LEDs on the front of both the LOFT and the DOX show battery status, while the power button allows you to shut the whole thing down if you want to reserve power.
