Ross Fisher breaks the Old Course scoring record … in disappointing fashion

Sunday saw some incredible scoring at St Andrews at the Dunhill Links Championship as Ross Fisher broke the Old Course's record with an 11-under-par 61 and Victor Dubuisson nearly matched him with a nine-under 63.

"Hatton, 25, opened up a seven-shot lead with four birdies on the front nine and gained a further shot on the 14th - he dropped only two shots during the tournament - to finish on 66, 24-under, for his second European Tour title".

The Englishman held off a strong charge from Ross Fisher, who broke Hatton's course record on The Old Course on Sunday with an impressive 11-under-par 61 - but he was not the only one to break a record this week.

Hatton, whose temperament has been questioned at times, spoke about how much he enjoyed having actor Jamie Dornan alongside him again during the tournament, just as he had previous year, saying that their chats between holes helped to keep him relaxed.

Fisher birdied six of his last seven holes at Kingsbarns for a 67, and Donald also produced a big finish with four birdies in seven holes.

France's Victor Dubuisson, who had entertained hopes of a record himself at one point, finished along in third after a 63, with Robert Rock and Scot Marc Warren in fourth.

It too boasted artists like Muse, Lorde, Blink-182, Chance the Rapper and The xx, as well as the Killers and Arcade Fire. Sources close to TMZ confirmed that a person under Paddock's name booked the rooms, but never stayed at the hotel.

LSU can make tumultuous week better or worse against Florida
NEXT UP: No. 13 Auburn (5-1, 3-0 SEC) will play at LSU on Saturday at a time and on a television network to be determined. Linebacker Devin White ended Florida's hopes when he batted down a fourth down pass by Gator quarterback Felipe' Franks.

He showed his class at the first hole on Sunday where, having landed in the Swilcan Burn with his second shot, he conjured an exquisite chip in for par.

"Fair play to Fish, it was an incredible round of golf and he certainly did push me all the way".

"Unfortunately I've got to sign for a 61 but I'll definitely take it".

'It felt so much harder than past year. "I got off to a fast start and made some early putts. I managed to give him a little bit to think about coming down the stretch".

After playing the front nine bogey free for the third straight day, Steele grabbed the lead and then recovered from a couple of bogeys with crucial birdies at the par-five 16th and 18th holes. "It's great to be back and I'm enjoying my first defence". A par on the 16th hole, followed by a nifty up-and-down par save on the 17th (see below) left Fisher needing to eagle the drivable par-4 18th to break 60. At the same time, though, we surely don't want to see great courses being constantly overpowered and that, I'm afraid, is exactly what is happening on the Old Course in particular these days.

"So this old man is just trying to show them that I'm not over the hill yet".
