A courageous Australian woman has been dubbed the Shark Wrangler after rescuing a shark that had been swept into the Oak Park rock pool in Cronulla, just south of Sydney.

"I just picked him up and off he went, ' she laughed, joking that she hoped the fearless stunt would be enough to get her a spot on next season's 'Survivor" TV show. A shark in the oak park pool!

The bottom-dweller Port Jackson shark is considered harmless to people.

Sydney resident Melissa Hatheier was swimming in a bay near Melbourne, when she stumbled upon a shark.

"So I herded him into the shallows and then I just sort of got on my knees. I just helped the shark relocate to the ocean". She was captured by her daughter, wrestling the shark and throwing it over the edge of the pool and back into the ocean, Mirror.co.uk reported. I started to swim around him and he became a bit stressed and started to knock his head on the rocks. So I said, 'I think I can just grab him'.

"I wouldn't have done it with a great white", she said.

Hatheier told The ABC she may not have been so brazen had the shark been a bigger breed, however.

Hundreds commented on the video, with many praising Hatheier's efforts in the scary situation.
