Fox renewed Bill O'Reilly deal despite harassment suit

Fox News over the weekend revealed the reason network executives ultimately made the decision to dismiss star host Bill O'Reilly in April. "I have never mistreated anyone", he said, adding that he had resolved matters with Wiehl privately because he wanted to spare his children from controversy.

O'Reilly has denied that he had a nonconsensual sexual relationship with Wiehl and, indeed, denied all the other harassment allegations brought against him.

"When the company renewed Bill O'Reilly's contract in February, it knew that a sexual harassment lawsuit had been threatened against him by Lis Wiehl, but was informed by Mr. O'Reilly that he had settled the matter personally, on financial terms that he and Ms. Wiehl had agreed were confidential and not disclosed to the company", 21 Century Fox said in a statement to CBS News on Saturday.

All that has not only been reported by the Times, but also now confirmed by 21st Century Fox themselves.

Despite all their in-house sexual misconduct allegations - O'Reilly, Roger Ailes, Charles Payne, Eric Bolling being a few - Fox News hosts and contributor Tomi Lahren, Tucker Carlson, and Sean Hannity have still used the Harvey Weinstein scandal to lecture the mainstream media and Hollywood. The producer was sacked by his own company earlier this month after the Times revealed three decades of alleged sexual harassment and assault by Weinstein.

This latest episode to hit Fox comes after Gretchen Carlson, a former high-profile Fox presenter, received $20 million from her employers after she claimed former chairman Roger Ailes harassed her. When the charges against him first appeared, O'Reilly also found an ally in fellow alleged groper President Trump, who said "I don't think Bill did anything wrong".

Hockey: India maul Malaysia 6-2
Earlier, Harmanpreet Singh was at his best when he found the centre of the goal to take India's lead to 2-0 in the 19th minute. Just after the second goal, Lalit Upadhyay made it 3-0 for India in the 52nd minute, with the match in total control.

In spite of the fact that the arrangement has not been already made open, the system's parent organization, 21st Century Fox, recognizes that it knew about the lady's objections about Mr. O'Reilly. "This is crap, and you know it".

During an O'Reilly Factor segment on a strip club, O'Reilly suggested that she learn how to dance for a $10,000 tip.

Early that month, The Times gave an account of five settlements including Mr. O'Reilly, driving promoters to blacklist his show and generating challenges requiring his ouster.

As part of the deal, Wiehl agreed to destroy all photos, text messages and other communications between the two, the Times reported.

Wiehl last appeared on O'Reilly's show on December 20, 2016.

In a statement, the company told the Times: "21st Century Fox has taken concerted action to transform Fox News including installing new leaders, overhauling management and on-air talent, expanding training, and increasing the channels through which employees can report harassment or discrimination". Fox News paid the other three.
