A lady driving on a Virginia expressway was killed Saturday when a 12-year-old kid bounced off a bridge and arrived on her auto in a presumed suicide endeavor.

In the immediate aftermath of the incident, a man in Harris' front passenger seat was able to stop the auto on the shoulder.

Harris was pronounced dead at the scene, according to NBC 4, but her boyfriend survived, managing to steer the vehicle off to the side of the road.

The juvenile was transported to Fairfax Inova Hospital and is still being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Virginia State Police say yesterday's freaky accident on I-66 was an apparent suicide attempt.

Harris graduated from Towson and was studying clinical counselling as a graduate.

"She was caring - I mean she had an absolute love for children", Leigh Miller, Harris' mother, said.

Marisa's parents told that she was a student of the Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, pursuing a master's degree in the domain of clinical counseling. The boy landed on Harris' vehicle, incapacitating her.

The driver of the Escape was identified as Marisa W. Harris of Olney, Maryland.

Harris' mom called it "ironic" saying the boy who killed her is a child she would have helped.

Harris' father Patrick Harris described his daughter as an outgoing person, who had a love for the outdoors. She wanted to devote her career to helping children, family members said. "I miss her so much". "She was loved by her friends, she was dearly loved by her family, she was admired by her peers, and she was just a shining star".
