The Bucks need another playmaker and Bledsoe averaged more than 20 points and six assists each of the last two seasons in Phoenix.

Looks like the Milwaukee Bucks have won the Eric Bledsoe sweepstakes. Milwaukee ranks just 21st in total points per game at 103.9 points, and are hoping Bledsoe can add some offensive firepower to the team.

McDonough reiterated on October 31 that the Suns had no timetable for a potential trade involving Bledsoe.

The Bucks now have $106 million lined up in contracts next season, about $16 million below the luxury tax. No doubt in my mind that the Bucks are a better team after this deal. In my book, this trade was a win. Dealing picks for a starter who will soon turn 28 accelerates the Bucks' timetable to win the next two seasons, before Bledsoe becomes an unrestricted free agent who will be hard for Milwaukee to re-sign given the team's tax limitations.

According to ESPN, the first-round pick Milwaukee is sending to the Suns is lottery-protected and likely to be near the back end anyway, given the team's playoff expectations, which demonstrates that - despite his undeniable ability - Bledsoe had little value and Phoenix no leverage in trade negotiations, given the circumstances.

NFL Fights: AJ Green Beats Jalen Ramsey Real Proper

Phoenix will get a conditional second-rounder this upcoming NBA Draft it it lands between 48-to-60, but it won't carry over into 2019 if the Bucks keep it in 2018, per Wojnarowski.

The Suns could also maximize their return for Bledsoe by shipping Monroe to a third team prior to the deadline. Moving Monroe early could also help Phoenix clear a roster spot to convert starting point guard Mike James' two-way contract into an National Basketball Association deal without waiving second-year wing Derrick Jones. Unhappy with the team and its direction, Bledsoe desperately needed a change of scenery, and, entering his prime - he turns 28 on December 9 - as Antetokounmpo and Middleton approach theirs, he could be a great fit on the court with Milwaukee.

We provided our immediate reaction to the news, discussing what Bledsoe should bring to the Bucks, and the all-important price the Bucks paid to acquire him.

Given that situation, Phoenix probably did as well as could be expected.

For the Suns, it's simply time to move on.
