Solo, 36, said that Sepp Blatter, 81, then the president of worldwide soccer organizers Federation Internationale de Football Association, 'grabbed her a**' just before they were to give one of the sport's most prized awards - the Ballon d'Or - to her own teammate.

Solo also took to Instagram to express her support for the ongoing #MeToo campaign, which aims to raise awareness of sexual assault and harassment.

Solo, 36, said she "had Sepp Blatter grab my ass", at the Ballon d'Or awards gala in Switzerland, when she presended the women's world player of the year award - while Blatter stood next to her on the stage - to US teammate Abby Wambach.

"I had Sepp Blatter grab my a-", Solo told Expresso when asked about sexual harassment in women's soccer.
