Less than a month after Airbus agreed to rescue Bombardier's struggling C Series jet program, Bombardier has announced a second order for the narrowbody passenger plane.

Davy Thompson, Unite's regional co-ordinating officer for Northern Ireland, said the latest order for 12 CS300 Bombardier aircraft from the EgyptAir Holding Company is a positive signal for Northern Ireland.

As of September 30, Bombardier had taken 360 total orders for CS100s and CS300s, and delivered just 19.

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft President Fred Cromer could not say whether EgyptAir would be the first Middle East airline to operate the CSeries. "That will take our firm order book to over 400 airplanes".

As part of the Airbus venture, Bombardier has said it would invest $300 million to set up an Alabama assembly line for CSeries purchased by American carriers.

Although Miami can record its best win of the season this week against No. 3 Notre Dame , so can TCU, which visits No. 5 Oklahoma. It sounds illogical, but the story of the CFP selection committee's second rankings never was going to be the top four (or five).

Bombardier has signed a letter of intent for up to 24 CS300 aircraft with Egyptair, which includes an initial 12 planes and purchasing rights for another 12.

"We are respecting the customer's wishes to not disclose the identity", Cromer said from Dubai, referring to the European buyer.

Bole said, "I think it's a great template and it's something that will be followed extremely closely by the other carriers in the region", he said.

But the EgyptAir letter of intent to purchase the jets includes options for a further 12 CSeries that, if exercised, would increase the total list value of the deal to almost $2.2 billion. The aircraft had been plagued by delays and cost overruns, and recently was hit with potentially crushing tariffs in the U.S. after a trade complaint by Boeing.
