Equities extend gains for 7th session aided by IT, durables stocks

According to market observers, hopes of a potential sovereign ratings upgrade by a USA ratings agency due later in the evening kept investors' sentiments buoyed. The broader NSE Nifty ended 0.40 percent higher at 10,389.7.

Moves in Asian share markets were minor with Japanese markets closed for a holiday and the United States off for Thanksgiving.

The wider Nifty50 of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) provisionally closed (at 3.30 p.m.) higher by 44.65 points or 0.43 per cent at 10,393.40 points. The market breadth was positive as 1506 shares advanced against a decline of 1,227 shares, while 154 shares were unchanged.

Major gainers in the early trade are Bajaj Auto, Infosys, Cipla, Reliance Industries (RIL) and Kotak Mahindra Bank that trade higher in the range of 0.80% to 1.5%. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 14.45 points or 0.14% at 10,356.75 with 33 components gaining.
