The HTC U11 will get a slew of new features with the arrival of Android Oreo. In the reply thread to his tweet, Mo confirms that the U11 Life will also get the Oreo update. The smartphone now runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system.

It's been a lot rougher, though, for anyone else who uses a device from the huge library of Android-powered phones, but you're in luck if you're an owner of the unlocked version of the HTC U11.

That said, Mo also confirmed that the Oreo update for the U11 on Sprint will be "out as quickly as possible".

The confirmation of the rollout of the update came when VP for product management at HTC, Mo Versi tweeted stating that "OS update will be available for download" "starting on Monday". The initial version of the firmware distributed in Taiwan was approximately 1.3GB in size and the global build of the OS is likely to be around that same weight mark, though HTC has yet to detail the software in any capacity.

Disclosed over the weekend, owners of an unlocked HTC U11 are in for a treat this week. While we didn't hear anything from HTC itself, we knew other markets would follow soon. HTC U11 is the first ever smartphone to feature "squeezable sides". The feature can easily be customised inside the settings menu.
