While Texas A&M's Board of Regents met on Thursday night to discuss the hiring of a new head football coach, Florida State's Jimbo Fisher told reporters he plans to coach the Seminoles' rescheduled game against Louisiana-Monroe.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said that Fisher did an unbelievable job. "I am confident we will fill the position very soon".

Despite the school's president recently noting that he would do everything possible to retain Jimbo Fisher, it's looking more and more like Florida State will lose the long-time head football coach.

If he's willing to turn his back on Florida State and its fans that easily, what's to say he won't do the same to Texas A&M when things get tough? It works out to an annual salary of $7.5 million, making Fisher the second-highest paid coach in the FBS behind only Bama's Nick Saban, who will make $8.1 million annually starting in 2018.

"Obviously, he feels like it's the right move for him". We have the player and fan reaction. Texas A&M was 51-26 under Sumlin, but the Aggies were just 25-23 against Southeastern Conference teams and wrapped up a third straight.500 finish in SEC play.

As I said, Fisher's tenure at FSU came to a nasty end and could have been easily avoided had he and the school communicated better. "I don't have any doubt about that".

FSU had already starting the vetting process of a couple of potential hires like Oregon's Willie Taggart and Virginia Tech's Justin Fuente.
