'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' will hit theaters next year

Spider-Man: Homecoming was a huge success for Sony, and it avoided all the tropes that you would expect from a Spider-Man movies like familiar love interests. The short trailer gives viewers a peek behind that mask.

Created by writer Brian Michael Bendis as a character his mixed-race daughter could identify with, the half black/half Hispanic Miles Morales would become a beacon of representation in the Marvel universe... and also just one really unbelievable Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where pretty much anyone can be Spider-Man.

There's also the fact that in the comics, we have Spider-Gwen (an alternate-reality version of Gwen), who's extremely popular and a character people have wanted to see on the big screen for a while now.

But, all of that is about to change, because Sony has released a shockingly awesome trailer that will have you ready to count down the days until Christmas 2018, despite the fact that this year's festivities haven't even begun!
