So, say goodbye to the polarizing split headlight design that made the Cherokee truly a standout model in the Jeep range - for better or worse - and say welcome to the new face that has a much more conventional look. For this 2019 model, the vehicle was restyled by Vince Gallante, one of Jeep's newest designers who now holds a few hits under its belt at FCA such as the Renegade, the Compass and the all-new Wrangler.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has announced it will unveil a refreshed take on the Jeep Cherokee at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show next month.

At the back, smoked taillights replace the old units while the license plate holder is now placed on the tailgate itself. The facelift sees the narrow-slit lights gone in favour of fuller headlamps with DRLs, joined by the American brand's iconic seven slot grille in-between that features across its line-up. The gauge cluster betrays an engine with a redline of 5,600 rpm, well below the power peak of either the base 2.4L Tigershark I-4 or the 3.2L Pentastar V-6 found in the current Cherokee.
