Oakland Raiders set to sign Jon Gruden to landmark deal

This season Oakland missed the playoffs with a final record of 6-10, after ending a 14-year postseason drought a season ago finishing 12-4. The team is planning to introduce Gruden in a "splashy" news conference on Tuesday.

Appearing on ESPN's Golic and Wingo (h/t Ryan Wilson of CBSSports.com) on Wednesday, Gruden confirmed he has spoken with Raiders owner Mark Davis regarding the opening and added, "I think there's a good chance", when asked about whether he would accept the job.

The Raiders fired Jack Del Rio following a disappointing six-win season and talk immediately turned to Gruden.
