The addition of Jon Gruden as the next head coach of the franchise has changed the entire dynamic in Oakland as McKenzie will work closely with the 54-year-old moving forward.

Sunday, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter told ESPN's Scott Van Pelt on Sportscenter "Jon Gruden is going to be the next coach of the Oakland Raiders". He added fuel to the fire this summer when he talked about the prospect of coming back to coach with, a Tampa Bay Buccaneers news site. He won the Super Bowl in his first season with the Buccaneers, beating the Raiders. Gruden was the Raiders coach from 1998 until the 2001 season. Gruden is the ideal match for Oakland and will bring several talented coaches with him. After a brief hiatus, Brown returned to football as the part owner, coach and general manager of the AFL expansion Cincinnati Bengals, who began play in 1968. Gibbs returned to coaching in 2004 and his second stint in Washington wasn't almost as effective as his first.

That led to the decision to fire Del Rio following his third season and go hard after Gruden. Late owner Al Davis hired Art Shell in 2006, 11 years after firing him the first time. Gibbs stepped away following the 1992 season with three Super Bowl titles in his career. The team went 30-34 in his four seasons, making the playoffs twice and winning one game before retiring again.
