Trump's corrupt media awards: Why some pundits are angling to win

After President Donald Trump tweeted that he would be announcing the "Most Dishonest and Corrupt Media Awards" on Monday, a few top late-night hosts chose to submit themselves for consideration for the year.

As per the Trump Campaign list, the competition for "King of Fame news" is between three news outlets.

The late-night comedians responded by copying each other in an attempt to get the "Fake News Media" award, expressing the view that receiving an award would be a badge of honor. "Stay tuned!" Trump said.

The journalism watchdog group CPJ had tweeted last week that it would hold its own awards ceremony to coincide with Trump's.
