While addressing a public meeting organised by the students' and youth wing of the party at Kanchenjunga Stadium at Siliguri, Banerjee said, "West Bengal is facing the maximum deprivation and neglect under the present (National Democratic Alliance) regime at the centre (led by the BJP)".

Despite wide speculation that the two parties would snap ties, the TDP said earlier this week, that it had chose to continue with the NDA.

"As and when it is required, the chief minister and party chief will take the decision appropriately".

The TDP said it was "disappointed" that the FM did not address the state's needs but the party won't opt out of the alliance yet.

Rajya Sabha chairperson M Venkaiah Naidu said he has not accepted a letter submitted by the TMC, the Akali Dal and the TDP because the members mentioned the names of the governors.

Chowdhary, on February 1, had warned that the TDP had three options before it, namely, (1) either try and continue the alliance (2) make their MPs resign and (3) simply terminate an association with the BJP and the NDA. "There is fermentation of anti-BJP feeling in the party and among the people". On Friday, Naidu stated that the centre had given menial treatment to Andhra while earmarking allocations in the budget.

While Shiv Sena, the second biggest alliance partner in the NDA, already declared that it would go alone in the next assembly elections, Siromani Akali Dal in Punjab is also not happy with the BJP for the Centre ignoring Punjab in the budget. "All BJP allies are unhappy with the way BJP is treating them even though they are the ones who helped the BJP grow". The TDP leader, however, denied it and said that no such communication has been made.

He is contemplating launching a pressure group within NDA by joining hands with the other allies of the BJP in other states.

"Bengaluru, Mumbai and Ahmedabad got a substantial allocation for various projects but none of our projects, including the Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam Metro rail, got anything", one of the sources quoted Naidu as saying at the meeting.
