Google is launching a new unified payment service which goes by the name Google Pay.

Google Pay, Google's new online payment service, combined Google Wallet and Android Pay, has officially rolled out with a new app on Android mobile devices, as Google announced earlier this year.

Reply by Google is a new app from Google that brings its Smart Reply feature to third-party apps like WhatsApp, Messenger, Slack and more. This allows users to make payments in real-world stores wherever they have the option to make purchases at NFC-enabled tills, or at contactless travel ports such as London's TfL network.

Google also plans to integrate "Google Pay Send" into the app, letting the users send money to friends by using their phone number, similar to Venmo or Square Cash. And the Cards tab provides a hub for information about all of a user's credit and debit cards, active gift cards, and loyalty programs. Until now, Tez has only been able to pay participating merchants or transfer between users, but it will soon be possible to pay utility bills, too. However, for the moment, that option continues to be a part of Google Wallet, which has been rebranded as Google Pay Send.

The Google Pay App will have a Home Tab where clients will have the capacity to see all the data they require.

XDA Developers are known for their inquisitiveness and their curiosity has led to the discovery of a new feature in Android P much before its commercial release. For example, users in the U.S. or United Kingdom should be able to send and request money in the next few months.

This progresses from privacy efforts introduced in Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which was the first Android-based operating system to prioritise applications in the foreground and user-visible activities, however this still afforded background applications the opportunity to make use of the device's hardware while idle.
