Raiders release Aldon Smith following domestic violence accusation

Police who responded to the call said the victim had non-life-threatening injuries.

Smith's fiancée told TMZ Sports she is scared for his life and hopes he gets the help to turn it around.

The Raiders have chose to release the disgruntled linebacker after he was involved in an alleged incident of domestic violence over the weekend. Investigators from the SFPD Special Victims Unit want to interview Smith about the incident. Smith was last seen proposing to his girlfriend at Gary Danko restaurant just last month. Smith hasn't played a snap in the NFL since 2015 when he was suspended indefinitely for violating the league's substance-abuse and personal conduct policies.

On March 10, 2017, Smith was again detained by SFPD when he was a passenger in a vehicle that ran into a police cruiser. He hasn't played a down of football since the 2015 season.

And in 2013, Smith turned himself in on three felony counts for possessing illegal assault weapons after a stabbing incident.

Smith, 28, became an All-Pro with the San Francisco 49ers after being drafted with the 7th overall selection in the 2011 draft, but was released after his fourth arrest in 2015.

Smith, who was playing on a one-year deal with the Raiders when he was suspended, re-signed with the Raiders in 2016 but has yet to be cleared to return to the league.
