The Academy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday.

You remember the drama of it all, right?

. Kimmel gave the potential winners a word of caution Sunday night after having hosted the ceremony past year and needed to deal with the unexpected fiasco. "After I said "no", they did some comedy on their own", he said to guffaws from the elite audience of Hollywood and the cinematic world.

But now the pair have been given another shot at their role, and will be announcing the same award this year. Kimmel, who hosted the show 2nd year in running, said.

Last year, the biggest blunder in Oscars history unfolded when La La Land was wrongly announced as the 2017 Best Picture instead of rightful victor, Moonlight.

And that film was The Shape of Water.

Beatty was masterful and poised in a situation you could neverprepare for.

It turned out that Beatty and Dunaway had been given an envelope containing the name of "La La Land" star Emma Stone, the victor for Best Actress.

The Bonnie and Clyde duo were caught in the middle of the most controversial moment to ever happen in the history of the Oscars a year ago. Nothing could possibly go wrong from here.

"Obviously mistakes happen", Todd tells USA TODAY about the humorous look back to a year ago.

The mix-up was caused when the pair were handed a card which revealed Emma Stone had won Best Actress for her role in "La La Land", and Faye mistakenly read out the movie's title as the victor of Best Picture.

During that time the Academy has taken steps to ensure that this very avoidable mistake will never happen again - by replacing the two accountants responsible for handing Beatty the wrong envelope and adding a third set of eyes to fully prevent another miscue.

Comediennes Haddish and Rudolph co-presented the awards for animated and live-action short films and they were hilarious.
