Jurassic World Alive seems to be an interesting prospect; one that will incite excitement in fans.

TAKE Pokémon Go's augmented reality (AR) graphics and location-based gameplay and add in a hefty dose of dinosaurs.

Since Michael Crichton first opened the gates to those risky dinos with his Jurassic Park novel, there has been a whole movie franchise, more merchandise that you shake a raptor claw at, comic books, and many video games of varying success. "They have fled Jurassic World on the unstable island of Isla Nublar....and they're roaming free in your cities and neighborhoods", the developer, Ludia, explained in the announcement. You can even train the dinosaurs and battle them with other players around the world.

The release of Jurassic World Alive is close to the theatrical release of Jurassic World: the Fallen Kingdom, which is on June 22.

More AR games are also in the works, including Harry Potter: Wizards Unite (from the makers of Pokémon Go) and Ghostbusters World.

Coinciding with the upcoming release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Universal Pictures and mobile developer Ludia have announced that they are teaming up for the Pokemon Go!-style AR title Jurassic World Alive. Don't think you can just sit at home forever and let everything come to you, though, because you are still going to need to go out and hunt for in-game currency and batteries for said drone.

In our opinion, this is a welcome change of pace, since this might be the first decent tribute to Pokemon GO to appear, and after such a long time since the original Augmented Reality game showed up. You'll have to collect DNA samples, track the dinosaurs, and "breed new hybrid species".

Ludia is the ideal company to develop a Jurassic game for iOS and Android. God creates dinosaurs. God destroys dinosaurs.

Find out more about the game on its official site. If you've seen the most recent Jurassic World movie then I'm sure you can extrapolate on why that's a bad idea.
