After accepting the Best Actress award for her role in "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri", McDormand joyfully implored the women who were nominated this year, in all categories, to stand and share the moment with her.

Bryant is due back in court on March 28.

Brazil said she was concerned by Bryant's four prior felony convictions on theft-related charges and his past failures to appear in court, which prosecutors argued should keep the bail unchanged.

The actress clutched her award through the post-win press conferences and took it with her to the annual Governors Ball celebration.

TMZ said on Tuesday that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences plans on pressing charges against Terry Bryant, the man who was taken into custody on Sunday night after reportedly stealing the McDormand's Best Actress Oscar statue at The Governors Ball.

"There is a big difference between holding an Oscar and what he is charged with", Brookman said in court.

Bryant, 47, walked out of the Governors Ball Oscars after-party with the trophy on Sunday night, authorities said.

"My team got this tonight", Bryant says in the video, which is still available on Facebook thanks to the merciful internet gods.

When he was leaving the ball, a photographer confronted him after not recognising him as a victor. The judge said that influenced her decision to release Bryant on his own recognizance.

Late in the evening, McDormand was spotted red-faced from laughing and crying after an unidentified man lifted the trophy while she was chatting and darted out of the Ray Dolby Ballroom where the party was being held.

"Obviously I am pleased that Del Toro mentioned the Baltimore films and certainly surprised", Levinson said.
