Former Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler finally got the big-money deal that he's been looking for as he agreed to a five-year deal worth more than $61 million, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network Insider. By seasons end, he was known for not playing a single defensive snap in New England's Super Bowl LII loss, a curious decision by Bill Belichick that still has Patriots fans searching for answers. The team also signed Logan Ryan away from New England a year ago, so it appears that Ryan and Butler will figure into the position prominently, along with 2017 first-round pick Adoree' Jackson. Despite the Lions appearing to be in the finals of the Butler sweepstakes, the rising cornerback is signing with the Titans instead. He was the hero of New England's Super Bowl win after the 2014 season, intercepting a pass to seal the 28-24 victory over Seattle.

Malcolm Butler is officially moving on from the Patriots. Amendola and Edelman played together for five years with the Patriots. Indeed, Butler played in every regular-season game from 2015-17, starting all but one.

Butler had two interceptions in 2017. Three years later, he saw exactly one snap as his team was picked apart by Nick Foles in a 41-33 Super Bowl 52 defeat. Butler later denied any off-field misconduct, saying he never missed a curfew or did anything to hurt the Patriots' chances.
