The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch for Nassau and Suffolk counties Wednesday through Thursday mornings and a coastal flood statement for parts of LI early Wednesday morning.

Commuters are warned to expect hard travel conditions during the morning and evening commute on Wednesday.

The period of heaviest precipitation and gusty winds is now projected to be Wednesday through Thursday.

New England is still reeling from last week's storm, which the weather service declared a blizzard.
