Crystals will be reintroduced with the update, but can only be used to purchase cosmetic items like these new Appearances. Players can buy loot boxes with either crystals or credits, which are earned through in-game activities.

Here's a quick recap of everything we know about the Night On Endor update for Star Wars Battlefront 2. Players can start either as an Ewok or Stormtrooper, but each time a Stormtrooper is taken out they become an Ewok.

This new mode will only run for a limited time though, starting on April 18. The headliner for the content drop is Ewok Hunt, a new game mode that seems like it will play like an infection-style game.

Gamers originally asked EA and DICE about the Hunt Mode back when Star Wars: Battlefront II was still in development but EA denied that the mode would be available during launch, much like how cosmetic options for the characters weren't present during launch.

Crystals are also making their way back into the game after the controversy surrounding Star Wars and microtransactions. The latest experience is called Ewok Hunt and it's coming next week! "And like a lot of other games on the market, to be able to afford to do that we had an idea of getting returns from that". Over 50 additional Appearances to personalize your units will be made available in this update (learn more about Appearances and rarities, and get even more details on this update, in our Community Transmission).

The update is scheduled to come out next Wednesday on April 18th. We have improved the melee combat responsiveness for all melee attacks including things like lightsabers and Phasma's staff attack. Season Two is on the way and we can confirm that you'll hear more about this in early May.

EA pulled microtransactions from Battlefront II after significant backlash from fans over their inclusion in the game. "We will now spend more time listening, adjusting, balancing and tuning".

We have loads more content in the pipeline, too.
